This unique and dramatic raven brooch was directly inspired by an Inuit raven art print. It is one of a kind, handmade from "Blue Granite" Premo polymer clay that has been shaped and textured completely by hand -- no stamps or molds were used. After texturing, I used a combination of Silver and Aztec Gold mica powders to give it a mottled, mixed-metallic-looking finish. The raven brooch has an almost mechanical, steampunk appearance. It is 2 3/4 inches (7 cm) long and about 2 inches (5 cm) high, larger than most of my earlier work. Although it has the look of metal, this brooch is lightweight and easy to wear.
A pin back has been securely baked on to the reverse side of the raven brooch with a square of polymer clay across the flat of the pin back. This piece has been signed and dated by the artist.
Note: Although polymer clay bakes hard, reasonable care should be taken to avoid breakage of the more delicate features of this piece. I regret that I cannot offer refunds for breakage that occurs after delivery.
Barring unusual and unforeseen circumstances, I ship within two business days after purchase.
